The Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases Research is determined to rely on its expert staff and existing work environment to lead and manage gastrointestinal research, as a nationally and internationally recognized authority, and to play a key role in policy-making. The health system should be recognized as a center of thinking in this field. The center intends to lead, comprehensive and strategic management of research in the field of gastrointestinal diseases and to play an active and efficient role in solving the basic problems of the health sector for the sustainable development of the country and in the direction of human development and excellence. This center is in the framework of Islamic values and based on a comprehensive attitude towards human beings and their health and in order to lead, manage and create a suitable environment for carrying out basic and practical projects, in the field of causes, prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and in To form and perform duties in order to expand the borders of knowledge and improve the level of health in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Establishment history
The idea and desire for the existence of such a center in the minds of officials and faculty members of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences goes back many years. Since this university is one of the scientific centers of the country and has played a key role in the treatment and medical education of the northwestern region of Islamic Iran, the existence of the Research Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases was felt more than ever. Establishment of Research Center for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences with the approval and introduction of the following people as the founding board through the University Vice Chancellor for Research and its approval in the one hundred and eighth session on 12/22/2004, and then with final agreement in Dated 12/12/2006 in the one hundred and seventy-ninth session of the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities.
Then, with the appointment of Dr. Soomi as the head of the center, the official activity of the center on the upper floor of the endoscopy department began on 2/26/2005.
